Farouks Serbs Fought in Bosnia

Al-Qaeda’s Farouk Fought Against Serbs in Bosnia
During yesterday’s news conference with President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan, President George Bush said:
“Recently, British forces killed a longtime terrorist affiliated with al-Qaida named Omar Farouk. Farouk was active in Bosnia and Southeast Asia.
He was captured in Indonesia. He escaped from prison in Afghanistan. He was killed hiding in Iraq.
Every victory in the war on terror enhances the security of free peoples everywhere.”
In other words, Bosnian Serbs who fought countless Farouks during the Bosnian war (1992-1995) and later on in Kosovo, could have dealt with this “longtime terrorist affiliated with al-Qaeda” over a decade ago and save many lives and a lot of trouble to American and British forces facing Farouks in Afghanistan and Iraq today. They most surely would if they were not bombed, sanctioned and vilified beyond recognition for fighting against Farouks, by the American, British, German and other “leaders of the free world.”
Whining of the Hideous Christianne Amanpour
When Serbs fought with Farouks in Bosnia and in the Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija, mass media in the West couldn’t stop wailing and shedding crocodile tears for every Farouk who has been properly paid for coming to wage jihad in the Serbian lands. As Ryan W. McMaken notes:
Can we ever forget how the hideous Christianne Amanpour whined incessantly about the various crises in Yugoslavia until the American state intervened, bombing Serbian women and children? Didn’t the press whoop it up for war back then calling Slobodan Milosevic another Hitler and repeating the Clinton administration’s deception? I’ll agree the situation is much grander and more tragic now, but it’s just a difference of scope, not of type.
Self-Defeating Balkan Politics
Every victory in the war on terror does enhance the security of free peoples everywhere and it’s about time to admit Serbs were obstructed, punished and prevented from fighting the exact same war on their own turf until seven years ago (when, in 1999, Serbia was bombed back into middle ages for daring to protect its own country from islamic aggression).
One would think it fairly obvious that siding with militant islamists led by al-Qaeda and against Christian Serbs in Bosnia, and musing about handing 15 percent of Serbian territory to those same jihadists today cannot lead to victory against terror, but only to clear and devastating defeat with long term consequences that are bound to be felt throughout the world in decades to come.
If Not the Serbs, Then Someone Else

The same world powers which, for some reason, didn’t want the Serbs to hurt Farouks in Bosnia and Kosovo, now have to deal with Farouks on their own.
Because, to everyone’s surprise, it turns out that Farouks who were decapitating and killing Serbs in Bosnia and Kosovo have moved on to decapitating and killing Americans, Brits and others in Afghanistan, Iraq, New York, London and Madrid.
Someone has to deal with Farouks, if not the Serbs, it will be the Americans or Brits or whoever (maybe even the Norwegians), and Farouks have to be dealt with sooner or later -- if not fifteen years ago, then today, or tomorrow. The world powers have made their bed, they now have to sleep in it.
Perhaps the Serbs should wash their hands after all, shake the dust off their feet and move on.
