Tomislav Nikolic Interview

Presidential Candidate Tomislav Nikolic: EU Will Close Its Doors to Serbia in February

Tomislav Nikolic, presidential candidate in the upcoming elections and leader of Serbian Radical Party, the strongest political party in the country, in an interview for the Sunday edition of the Novi Sad daily Dnevnik said the EU leaders delayed imposed amputation of Kosovo-Metohija province from Serbia until mid February, in order to enable their candidate, Boris Tadic, to win the elections.

Scheduled for January 20, Serbia’s presidential elections are considered decisive in regards to the country’s future relation towards key Western governments which are openly advocating dismemberment of Serbia through the severing of its southern province of Kosovo-Metohija.

Boris Tadic, commonly praised in the West as a “pro-Western, pro-Euro-Atlantic integrations” candidate and the current president of Serbia will face a fierce challenge in the leader of Radical Party, which holds a third of votes in the Serbian parliament. Tomislav Nikolic and the Radicals are staunch opponents of Serbia’s accession to both NATO and the EU, due to NATO aggression and Western insistence on seizing Serbia’s territory.

Since the Lisbon summit on December 13, when the EU leaders issued direct ultimatum to Serbia to accept amputation of its southern province if it intends to join the Union, the opinion polls have shown that the public has made a definite shift in favor of Nikolic, and leader of Radicals is currently considered a frontrunner for the presidential appointment.

Assessing that joining NATO is no longer a dilemma among the greatest majority of Serbian voters, Nikolic told Dnevnik that “NATO has closed its doors to Serbia already” and now it is only a question of whether the EU accession is desirable or not. “However, the EU will close its doors in February for sure, because it will recognize the independence of Kosovo and Metohija,” Nikolic said.

He also rejected a claim that “hundreds upon hundreds of millions of Euros” would allegedly be poured into Serbia after it would sign the EU accession agreement, reminding that similar speculations and promises were being circulated at the time of CIA-funded “democratic revolution” in October 2000, but the supposed “billions” dwindled into a pittance after the coup.

A Handful of Western States Trying to Dismember Serbia are Not the Whole World

While against Serbia asking to be accepted into exclusive clubs such as NATO and EU, which appear eager to harm her, Tomislav Nikolic is far from advocating the isolationism and xenophobia Radicals are often dismissed for in the Western media. On the contrary, they simply believe a world to be a much bigger place and not reduced to United States, UK, Germany, France and Italy.

“Serbia has to cooperate with friendly states, it has to show that it will not betray its friends and that their support for Serbia is appreciated and reflected here. We must never interrupt relations with Russia, China, India, the Arab world, the Latin American states... those are the countries that have both a market for our goods and the resources and energy for production of those goods. Serbia must not sever the relations with the European Union either, unless the EU recognizes Kosovo-Metohija independence,” Nikolic said.

Asked whether he considers realistic the call by Serbian National Council from Kosovo province to enhance military cooperation with Moscow, including building Russian military bases in Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic responded positively, adding that the parliament assembly would have to decide on the presence of Russian troops.

“However, I do believe that Russian military presence in Serbia would strengthen our position and remove NATO threat forever. We are not facing any threats from Russia. Absolutely none,” Nikolic said.

Reminder to All Diaspora Serbs: Use Your Vote This Time Around and Take Part in the Upcoming Elections

According to some estimates, there are close to three million Serbs in diaspora, but most of them don’t take part in any of the Serbian elections, even though most have very strong political views and are closely following the events surrounding Serbian lands.

Elections are the best opportunity to express your views in a most direct and effective way, so that your voice matters. RTS has carried an information that every Serbian citizen living abroad has to be registered in the electoral lists until December 30, in order to be able to cast their votes. Call the Serbian embassy or consulate closest to where you live to make sure you are registered. If not, ask them what you need to become a registered voter and make sure to submit the requested form before December 30. According to the RTS, one should be able to register in person, by mail, fax or through the email.

Act now and help steer Serbian ship in the right direction. By forfeiting your right to vote, you are forfeiting your right to complain when things are going from bad to worse — we need to either put up, or shut up.

I have no idea if I even have any Serbs who read my blog, but Neil Clark has a few. I have an idea - why not create a simple 100 word version of this posting in both English and Serbian? Let us know when it is ready and your British friends can then repost it at their blogs.

It is up to you, Serbia being your country, but if there is anything that you want me to do, just ask.

Thank you, Ken - you are a good friend!

I'm sure you have lots of Serbian visitors - Serbs are everywhere - only they are a whole nation of strong silent types :-)))

Will write to you in private a bit later, as soon as I get a chance.

I would also like to encourage the Serb diaspora to vote. Not that your vote will change anything regarding anti-Serb course that the USA has taken, but at least you will register your disapproval of anti-Serb lies that the USA political machine have been carefully and generously nurturing for decades.

Remember that the USA (+ European Union) has been directly responsible for murdering thousands of Serbs in Croatia, in ex-Bosnian capital Sarajevo, and in Kosovo, but if you only read western politically correct (so-called independent) media then you would be forgiven for accusing me of anti-“western” propaganda.. Now go and check how many Serbs escaped mass-slaughter of Serbs in “modern” Mesic/Tudjman-led Croatia, and in Bosnian-Muslim capital Sarajevo, and in Kosovo. You can start your research from the CIA’s web-site (surprisingly, they don’t lie as much as as “free media”. Try to find comparative date for the number of Serbs in 1990 and in 2007 in so-called ex-Yu free and democratic republics, and then ask yourself how the Serb numbers dramatically shrank in these banana republics.

Anyway, the main thing is that the Serb diaspora vote, for whatever candidate!

Yes, vote for any candidate, as long as it is not that slug like creature that calls itself Cedomir Jovanovic.

American Serbs must vote if they can for Ron Paul, he is the only candidate who will get the US out of Europe and close Bondsteel. They need to vote in the primaries and in the General Election, If you aren't registered republican, do so, its your only chance to make a difference in US Foreign Policy enough to give Serbs a Chance to Defend themselves in Serbia.

ALL OTHER CANDIDATES WILL TREAT THE SERBS AS THEY ARE TREATED NOW!

If you don't believe me, research the Man and his position on the issues especially Foreign policy.

Ron Paul really does appear to be the only US presidential candidate with integrity and common decency (i.e. the only human US presidential candidate). I'm pretty sure that American Serbs who, by all accounts, vote regularly in the American elections, especially since the 1990s and American heavy involvement in the Balkans, will know who deserves their vote this time around. Someone wrote to me a while back to say that there is an "American Serbs for Ron Paul" campaign in full swing but, as much as I want to help, I really don't think it would be fair for me to get too involved in American internal politics, to the point of advertising a nominee I personally couldn't vote for, since I'm neither in United States, nor part of their system.

This brings up another important point I never had time to address properly: as much as I want to help in promoting the good guys everywhere I don't want to turn this web space into personal promotion-type of site where every now and then this or that individual gets advertised, due to their just stand regarding the Serbs and Kosovo province issue.

For one, I'm sure that people who do understand the Balkan complexities, who know the truth and are courageous and honest enough to say it in public/write about it, are not doing that in order to earn praises, but simply because they are honest, decent human beings who can't stand the injustice.

Although I sincerely doubt that there is anyone out there who is telling the truth about the civil wars in the 1990s and Serbs in general just to "do us a favor", and needs to be thanked every time they open their mouth, expecting every such "favor" to be paid back in some form - if someone is indeed doing the right thing for all the wrong, selfish reasons, then he/she should stop right away, as far as I'm concerned.

Secondly, this web site was created in order to give additional space to Serbs, first and foremost, who are left completely voiceless in the West in general, and in the English-speaking parts of the world in particular. Its main purpose is to allow the Serbs to have their say and offer their point of view, since the English-language media (including the greatest majority of independent web sites) has managed to entirely exclude Serbs and, in fact, prevent them from having their say, even in the matters that concern Serbs more than anyone else.

No matter who and what, I absolutely refuse to turn one of the handful of web spaces where Serbs get to be heard and seen in true light into a soapbox advertising individuals or groups of people who happen to be knowledgeable and fair-minded, in order to "repay" their fairness.

At least not until there are more sites like this one, telling the truth about Serbian nation, Serbian lands, history and facts. Right now, there are no more than 10 English language sites that are consistently and painstakingly dealing with these issues and they are all self-funded, self-run, self-promoted, heroic efforts on behalf of just few good, dedicated individuals. Among billions of sites, that is less than a drop in the ocean.
