Massive Demonstrations in Serbia

American Embassy in Belgrade, Sunday, February 17, 2008
Belgrade in Flames
Around 4 p.m. on Sunday, after the Kosovo Albanian war criminal Hashim Thaci declared unilateral independence of the southern Serbian province of Kosovo-Metohija, the violent riots broke out throughout Serbia proper, including the capital Belgrade, and lasted until midnight.
American and Slovenian embassy were the main targets of the enraged citizens. Carrying Serbian flags and chanting "Kosovo is Serbia", "We won't give up Kosovo", the protesters broke the windows on both buildings and threw the torches inside. Police cordon in front of Slovenian embassy was broken and the demonstrators ransacked the building, tearing and burning the furniture and Slovenian and EU flags displayed on the balcony. In front of the U.S. embassy, the cars with diplomatic licenses were demolished and stones and lit flares were flying toward the embassy building.
The French embassy was also under attack, along with two McDonald's restaurants in downtown Belgrade, and the seat of the most despised viper-nest of Serbia's traitors, LDP party, as well as representatives of the Soros-funded media, such as treacherous B92, FoNet and Yellow-leaning RTS, supposedly a public-oriented media house. The FOX TV reporter informed Tanjug he was saved from the angry Serbs by the Russian reporters. A group of protesters charged at the FOX TV crew with no police nearby, but the Russian journalist told them those are also Russians, so they were allowed to leave.
Riot police used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse demonstrators, pushing them away from the embassies. According to the reports, more than 60 people were injured, including members of the police. However, the Belgrade Emergency center said they expect more injuries to follow, because the demonstrators have started marching towards the Albanian embassy.
Riots in Novi Sad, Nis, Banjaluka, Merdare...
The brutal attack at Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity orchestrated by Washington and Brussels, and carried through their Kosovo Albanian puppet-terrorists, has initiated equally strong reactions in other major Serbian cities, like Novi Sad and Nis, and Banjaluka, Republika Srpska capital. In Novi Sad, police managed to prevent demonstrators from demolishing Slovenian department store Merkator. McDonald's restaurant in downtown Novi Sad was also damaged.
Members of the Serbian patriotic Movement Obraz (Honor) on Sunday blocked Serbia's northern border with Hungary.
More than thousand army reservists from the towns near Kosovo-Metohija administrative border today surged to Merdare, small town in the so-called neutral zone on the administrative crossing to Kosovo province. The clash with NATO (KFOR) troops patrolling this crossing (mainly Americans), was only verbal this time around.
Attacks on EU/UN-occupied Buildings in Kosovska Mitrovica

Slovenian Embassy in Belgrade, Sunday, February 17, 2008
Around the same time, in Serb-populated town of Mitrovica in Serbia's Kosovo province three hand-grenades were hurled at buildings occupied by the European Union and the United Nations staff, which have encouraged the creation of a fake mafia state for Albanian terrorists on Serbian territory.
There were no reported injuries, and the extent of the material damage is kept under wraps.
"The Albanians can celebrate all they want, but this stillborn baby of theirs will never be an independent country as long as we Serbs exist," Kosovo Serb Djordje Jovanovic told the Associated Press, summing up the overall feeling prevailing among the Serbs throughout the world.
Serbian Orthodox Church: Throw-Back to the Darkest Times of Occupation and Tyranny
Serbian outrage with West's immorality, dishonesty, arrogance and brutality has been expressed by every single institution, every official, and the entire state leadership.
Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church issued a public statement, stressing that the attempt to tear Kosovo and Metohija from Serbia is “a meaningless act of violence over the law and justice, characteristic only for the times of occupation and tyranny”:
“[...] This means granting new legitimacy to centuries of Ottoman violence with its impact on the entire region, as well as re-applying the fascist solution (that of Mussolini and Hitler) to the Kosovo issue dating back to the times of WWII, when Kosovo and Metohija were annexed to so-called Great Albania, when thousands of Christian Orthodox Serbs were expelled from their secular homes, just like in 1999, with the objective of not having them return, ever.
“We are deeply appalled by the fact that, according to the words of an American Ambassador, it was because of the presently announced illegitimate and illegal recognition on behalf of the governments of the United States of America, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy and others, of the self-declared Kosovo independence - Serbia and Montenegro were bombarded in the first place. Thus, the presumed protection of human and minority rights by using bomb attacks with the code name "Merciful Angel'', represented only a preparation for this final trampling on justice and tearing the heart out of Serbia's breast.
“We expect the United Nations and the Security Council to urgently step out in the defense and the protection of the infringed human rights, the rights of religion and statehood of the Republic of Serbia, in the spirit of their very Charter and Resolution 1244, as well as its international obligations.”
Serbia's Crown Council: Mussolini and Hitler's Project Has Finally Been Accomplished
The Crown Council of H.R.H. Crown Prince Alexander II of Serbia issued a strongly-worded press release, stating that “the 17th of February 2008 is a date which will live in infamy”:

Riots throughout Serbia are expected to continue
“On that day Europe had diminished its own morale, embarassed its own history and shown that it carries within its organism the virus of its own downfall! On that day America gave up on Washington, Lincoln, and Wilson.
“It is not only the denied defeat of us Serbs, it is a defeat of an idea of a world without violence, of a unified Europe, of a society of equality, law, legality, and justice. It is a defeat of the idea of democracy. It is a defeat of the universally accepted rules of international law.
“The part of the project of Mussolini and Hitler has finally been accomplished, in the territory of Serbia.
“For that, we need not blame the Albanians, but those that have supported them, recognised them, encouraged them, and financed them! It is them whom we should acknowledge for their endurance in their hatred against the Serbs, for their dedication to the goals they had tried to accomplish in both world wars that they had fought and lost.
“The world has, once again, started approaching its downfall in the territory of Serbia. We are not happy to know that tomorrow the fate of Serbia and Serbs, on whose misfortune they have worked so hard and so united, many will see this happen in their own country, in their own home.
“Kosovo remains to be our history and destiny, but it is their future. Today we feel ashamed for them, leaving them to feel ashamed for themselves tomorrow.
“We pray to God of justice for the life and health of our citizens living in Kosovo and Metohija.”
Prime Minister Kostunica: Unprecedented Lawlessness
Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica has addressed Serbia's citizens after the illegal declaration of independence by Pristina separatists, condemning the act as an unprecedented lawlessness:
“Today, on February 17, the false state of Kosovo has been illegally proclaimed in that part of the territory of Serbia which is under the military control of NATO. This unprecedented lawlessness is a result of the destructive, crude and immoral policy of force implemented by the United States of America. This action has made it clear to the whole world that America places force above the United Nations Charter and that it is ready arbitrarily, ruthlessly and flagrantly to violate international order for the sake of its military interests.
“[...] Europe has today bowed its head and that is why it will also be responsible for all the far-reaching consequences that this violence will have for the European and the world order. This has primarily humiliated the European Union, and not Serbia. Serbia has refused to be humiliated, firmly abiding by the law and refusing to knuckle down before force.
“The unilateral proclamation of a false state under auspices of the USA and the EU presents the final act in the policy of force which began with the aggression and senseless bombardment of Serbia and that subsequently continued with the arrival of NATO troops in Kosovo and Metohija. Never before, as today, on February 17, has the truth been more clearly revealed - why Serbia was savagely devastated under NATO bombs,” Kostunica said [Serbian Premier's address in entirety].
Serbia Demands the Annulment of the Illegitimate Decision by Albanian Terrorists
President Tadic on Sunday called on United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to order the UNMIK chief to annul the illegitimate decision on the proclamation of the independence of the southern Serbian province and to dissolve the interim parliament of Kosovo and Metohija:
“[...] The Republic of Serbia demands that the Special Representative of the Secretary General take all necessary measures, in accordance with Resolution 1244 (1999) and other Security Council decisions, as he has on previous occasions, to abrogate, without delay, all acts and actions by which unilateral independence has been declared, as well as prevent any further violation of said Resolution, and all other Security Council documents, the UN Charter, and all other existing norms and regulations of international law. I, therefore, call upon you to ensure that your Special Representative in Kosovo exercise his powers and responsibilities by immediately declaring this illegal act null and void. I also expect him to act pursuant to the Constitutional Framework for Provisional Self-Government in Kosovo (UNMIK/REG/2001/9 of 15 May 2001, para 8.1 b) and dissolve the Assembly of Kosovo, since its 'declaration of independence' is not in conformity with Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999).”
UN Security Council is expected to hold a session regarding the unilateral declaration of independence by the Albanian terrorist in Serbian Kosovo-Metohija province on Monday, when Serbian Parliament is also scheduled to convene. A number of protests have been announced for the following days, with the biggest one expected on Thursday, February 21, when Serbian Radical Party has called the Serbs to come out in the streets.
Comments
I have been reading comments on many boards over this and it appears to me that Serbia has enormous sympathy from the ordinary man and woman on the street.
However I must query the way the Serbs are apparently reacting.
I will float an idea and you, Svetlana, and everyone else can shoot it down.
Your President, Prime Minister and every single person who can mobilise - in buses, cars, horses and carts, anything. Just move in unarmed and start driving into Kosovo and on to Pristina. You are 6 million. Reoccupy. Just drive, walk if necessary!!! No guns just men, women and children with whatever. Cross into northern Kosovo en masse and just keep going. If they road block just take your bulldozers and tractors. Drive around them. walk around them.
Force them to open fire if necessary.
The question is how much do you want Kosovo?.
This is the Martin Luther King and Gandhi option.
It would be mine if part of England was stripped from me.
Tell me why it cannot be done if the Serbs really care.

'Whoever is a Serb, of Serbian blood,
Whoever shares with me this heritage,
And he comes not to fight at Kosovo,
May he never have the progeny
His heart desires, neither son nor daughter;
Beneath his hand let nothing decent grow-
Neither purple grapes nor wholesome wheat;
Let him rust away like dripping iron
Until his name shall be extinguished!'"

Elizabeth are you naive enough to believe that the Albanians will not cut them down where they stand? This isn't the UK, these people are desperate and more than willing to kill and since they have been "disarmed" by NATO and UN you can bet that they have more than enough bullets and bombs to kill large swaths into them... and all your country will think is that it saved them the trouble since there is no one left to deal with in the Balkans. No more headache left standing in the West's way.
Although on a better note who is taking bets on whether they grab and publicly execute Tadic? I'm hoping for Drawing and Quartering him but thats just me, the West want Serbs to be Barbarians, let them have what they want, it makes no difference either they are portrayed as Barbarians or they are Barbarians, may as well do it, you'll be accused of it anyway with no hope of clearing yourselves... ever.

So the Albanians will shoot innocent Serb men, women and children.
Possibly - but at what cost to their own reputation and credibility not to mention the credibility of the USA.
They will seek to stop the Serbs - but bulldoze your way - as will Nato try to prevent them but I am sure it can be arranged to have plenty of Russian media around.
I have watched all day. The overwhelming sympathy is with the Serbs for now! - violence - hanging drawing and quartering only proves the dog with the bad name is a bad dog.
I honestly believe that a mass march into Kosovo and I mean Mass! a couple of thousand will not do - but if those who had the courage to vote for Nikolic would get out there and literally repossess their own land - I think the Albanians would be in a bit of a bind.
Kosovo has been given way because we are told the Albanians are in the majority - they are not in Serbia and Kosovo is Serbia.
Get into any vehicle this weekend - get every vehicle you can on the road and start the march into Kosovo to show its yours.
Peacefully and when you start invoking Martin Luther King and Gandhi - the liberals will get their knickers into a fair old twist.
What is an alternative? Throwing petrol bombs and rampaging. just what Bush and Thaci count on you doing.
Be the tortoise not the hare. Mass rally and march.
Thats my two pennorth anyway.

Before Sunday I had the thought that a million Serb citizens should march into northern Kosovo after the Albanians announced independence, an idea somewhat similar to Elizabeth's. But for now it is right and proper for the Serbian people to express their anger at American and EU institutions. I suspect that those that voted for Tadic are beginning to regret their vote. This might be confirmed by the strength of protests across Serbia over the next several days. The big question is what direction now will Serbia take? Will it eventually, meekly, join the EU, and begin its dissolution as a people? If it wanted to turn to the East is that opportunity open to it? Its access is blocked by states aligned with NATO and the EU. Are the Serbian people angry enough, do they understand that they are at war with Germany (that dominates the EU), to suffer a soft blockade if they don’t give in?
My people in Armenia have been blockaded by Turkey and Azerbaijan for over ten years and have suffered great deprivation of food and energy but we so strongly believe in ourselves that we will never give in. Is Serbia’s belief in itself strong enough to sustain it in a long term stand against America and the EU?

Dear Serbian Friends,
I and many many french friends are outraged to what happened to Kosovo yesterday. Outraged by the betrayal of France and Europe. We support you with all our heart. The French policy since 1945 has always been to please the "arabs" worldwide. Many of us had the hope that this would change with Sarkozy. This has not changed in fact. What a deception...
Hold on.
With all our support. Your numerous french friends.

I think this will interest the readers here. Please don't think all the people of the EU agree with what their governments do (most don't even want there to be an EU in the first place - at least, an average of 75% across the EU want a referendum on the latest treaty)

Elizabeth i think your idea is very good, however might i point out some not so pleasent facts. The US troops will fire on them, KPS most certainly fire on them. UN forces will fire on them. but i do agree with your plan. serbs must unite, i do agree that people who voted for tadic be in the front of the march.
and now a few words . please excuse the language.i did not write this.

The Day after independence....
And not a fucking thing has been done.
No mass protest. Where they fuck are the Serbs? No where. That's why the Serbian people are now America's bitch. If you can't even protest, then what the fuck good are you?
No blockades. I thought Serbia had a plan to cut off power and water to the rest of Kosovo? I thought they were going to make life miserable for Kosovo. Instead those siptars were celebrating and Serbia did absolutely nothing. The power still running. Everything is just as it was before independence. Those in Belgrade got elected into office, so now all they have to do is sit on their hands and pretend to be doing something.... but it's all bullshit. America told its bitch (Boris Tadic) to do nothing, and that's what you're seeing now..... NOTHING. Serbs voted for him, and Serbs got what they voted for.
Russia has done absolutely nothing. I guess they got their oil pipeline and business deals from Serbia, so nothing else needs to be done. What are they doing now? Are they going to repeat the same line over and over again about how this will lead to other problems? Yeah I got it. You've been saying that for two years now. Ok, Kosovo is independent now. So now what? Russia was claiming it had a number of severe responses.... and I haven't seen shit. I guess Russia too plans to sit back and do nothing like Belgrade.
Even in Republika Srpska, nothing happened. I guess they would call for an emergency session and demand independence. SOMETHING!!!! Instead, nothing. They too are quiet and are sitting on their hands. So much for all that talk about consequences. Looks to me like there are none.
So far the US, France, Germany, UK, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey all recognized Kosovo. In their eyes, it's a done deal. Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Czech Rep., and a number of other nations plan to soon recognize.
Serbia has done nothing. Russia has done nothing. It seems to me that it's over.

I just hate to see some people on this forum advocate human violence against their earthly enemies. It is very unseemly although I do understand the anger and frustrations.
Patience please. GOD is in charge!!
Americans and those who favor islamics, who have tormented and killed Serbians and other non-Albanians in Kosovo, do so at their peril. THEIR souls are being lost RIGHT NOW!
Those who break international laws to torment the Christians of Kosovo, Serbia and all the the non-Albanians who live in the province.... are making blood pacts with the devil himself.
The friends of islamics in the West will have to pay with millions of pounds of their own people's flesh!! In fact, they already have started to pay...
I remember the 9/11 diaster and the fact that some of the very men the USA armed during the war in Bosnia against the Serbs, were on those missile-airpanes armed with box cutters, rage and HATRED for their "allies from the Bosnian war" the USA.
I remember that Bin Laden helped to equip and arm the KLA/UCK and that Bin laden's talibans are still killing western troops in Afganistan. And, in Iraq Americans die by the hands of taliban-like people who hate and will ALWAYS hate the USA.
RICH Saudis pay many for the guns that terrorists use to kill Americans and their allies in the so-called war on terror. And yet George Bush walks hand in hand with a Saudi Prince known for his support of those illegal weapons deals. Deals with provide weapons for the same sort of terrorist that KILL AMERICANS.
America is so busy being the world's DANGEROUS busy-body that it forgets ALL its failures at home... those failures will come to light someday. The fish rots from inside as the old saying goes.
American spreads if failures all around the world like useless trash.

are serb politicians that stupid???????????/ Why is there even an albanian and american embessy in Serbia. WTF is going on in this hell hole we call earth. I hope this will teach serbia something "don't trust any country" i am wating for the day when america fall and saudi arabia with it.

The faster we get rid of Tadic the faster we can get our country back, time to move in to kosovo before it's too late!
Posted by: D.Sekulic | February 18, 2008 09:09 PM
Dear Rosebud
There is a saying that God looks after those who help themselves and I do think the Serbs collectively might need to pull their fingers out - if you will forgive the wording.
As for the Saudis with box cutters, a little research may point the way to an entirely different scenario. All is not always what it seems. We all know the duplicity of the neocons and Bush administration. No evil is beyond them and their allies. Why would they have any more regard for their own people looking at the blood dripping off their fingers from right around the globe.

Hello BELIORAOSRBIJA
I sympathize with your frustration.
What is Nikolic up to?. This could be the Radicals moment.
We get little news out here and even 'Serbianna' is not much help. Do you have an English news website available?
I read somewhere that the Bosnian Serbs are organizing an independence poll - but they had better get on with things.
Tadic is useless and Kostunica looks weak to me - but then he failed to back Nikolic at the critical moment before the election the other week.
The Serbs have been 'had'. Some of your leaders will be counting the proverbial pieces of silver. The Swiss will be doing well. But you need some natural leaders to come forward. What has happened to the spirit which defeated the nazi war machine?
You can still do it but have the Serbs the will? Good heavens you survived 78 days and nights of Yankee bombs!! Mobilize!!!!!

I am so ashamed to live in a Nation which is going to recognize this Usa-Narcomafia puppet state.
I would walk with you from Kosovska Mitrovica to Prishtina screaming КОСОВО ЈЕ СРБИЈА!
Hold on you brave serbian people.

Although the politics of the Balkans is historic and too complicated for a naive Westerner, I cannot see the reasoning for the backing of the independance of Kosovo by the USA.
I imagine that it's akin to the USA recognizing the right of California to declare independance from the United States, as there seems to be no common ground to the people of California and the rest of America.
How would Americans feel if if the EU and others recognized California's right to suceed?
