Serbian PM Requests an Urgent Parliament Session

Urgent Parliament Session to Reach Necessary Decisions

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica on Tuesday requested an urgent session of the Serbian parliament in order to reach the necessary decisions about the highly suspicious "agreement" offered by the EU and its announced mission to southern Serbian province, contrary to the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and against Serbia's will.

In a written statement, Serbian Premier said the EU's decision to illegally send a mission to Kosovo-Metohija in order to enforce Ahtisaari's plan for an independent Kosovo that had been previously rejected is a clear indication that Albanian separatists will proclaim unilateral independence of the province very soon.

Kostunica: EU Violates Serbia's Sovereignty

Kostunica said the EU has directly violated Serbia's sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional order with this decision.

"The decision to illegally send a mission means that together with Albanian separatists the EU creates, contrary to all international law principles, an artificial Albanian state in the territory of Serbia," underscored Premier Kostunica.

Offered EU Agreement to Make Serbia the First State to Recognize Kosovo Independence

"That is why the EU's proposal to sign a political agreement with Serbia while at the same time sending a mission for its dismemberment is a deception aimed at getting Serbia's signature on the agreement with the EU which, in fact, would mean that it agrees with Kosovo independence. By doing this, Serbia would become the first state to indirectly recognize independent Kosovo," warned the Premier.

"Serbian parliament should convene immediately before the unilateral independence of Kosovo is declared and in line with the Constitution and resolutions it adopted, reach the necessary decisions about the agreement offered by the EU and its mission," Kostunica concluded.

Did Vojislav Kostunica, having seen the writing on the wall, campaign for Mr Nikolic? Or did he, like some modern day Pontius Pilate, sit in the middle wringing his hands, unwilling to get them 'dirty' by supporting a 'nationalist'candidate.
Seems to me he has left it a bit late to show his patriotism. His active support in informal coalition against the new 'Soviet' style EU could have resulted in a win for the ethnic and genuine Serbs and Nikolic, rather than those Svetlana has identified as swinging the vote in favour of Tadic.
Perhaps Svetlana would be kind enough to again clarify all this for me, but from an outsider looking in, Kostunica's road to Damascus is a bit late as is his turning to the Radicals for Serbia's salvation. A week ago and he may have saved his country.

My feeling is that Kostunica is a day late and a dollar short. Tadic's victory may have been marginal, but it is being interpreted by the "democratic reformers" as a mandate to do as he pleases. Or rather, as his masters tell him. As for them, they had contingency plans for Kosovo either way, and one of them (EULEX) is now being executed. Now that Kostunica is opposing the pathetic interim pact, the EU has "delayed" it and blamed Kostunica - but the mission is proceeding on schedule.

I believe all we can do now is pray.

I agree with Elisabeth and Malic.
Kostunica has missed a golden opportunity to become a true Serbian statesman but he chose to be a two bit Belgrade politician - man without vision.
Was it so difficult to predict that Croats, Albanians,Muslims (helped by Soros media machine) would come out in droves to prevent the Serbs from taking their destiny in their own hands? And, that Nikolic would need just a bit of his support to make Serbs win?
And now, he is performing a Rambo act of patriotism. What a fool.
Kostunica was not only wrong ,but, what is worse,- stupid.

This is all part of the gran strategy of the globalists to take Kosovo away.

Tadic winning was the first step and if the Serbian government collapses or even worse hostilities develope the world will look upon the Serbs in a negative way which would clear the path for Kosovo to leave. Worse yet it could show the Albanians being more civilized and so forth, you guys know what I am saying.

I just want to know who's side the army is on and what are they doing right now?

Don't give up hope. Reference the New York Giants. The vote was close, with Tadic's side having to take a more Nikolic like line.

As for Kostunica, he was obviously seeking to cover himself; not knowing for sure how the vote would end.
